OSHA has released inspection and enforcement procedures for the COVID-19 Healthcare Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) issued last month. Employers must comply with most provisions as of July 6, and with the physical barriers, ventilation and training requirements by July 21.

IHA has created a crosswalk of the ETS regulatory text and inspection and enforcement procedures to help hospitals assess their compliance. The crosswalk may be downloaded by clicking here.

OSHA has recently updated its COVID-19 Healthcare ETS webpage with additional resources including a plan template and tools for compliance.

AHA issued a regulatory advisory on July 2 which summarizes and details provisions within the standard.

OSHA has extended the comment period to August 20, pursuant to a request by AHA. OSHA did not grant AHA’s request for a 30 day delay in compliance.
