Discharge Testing

DOH issued a DAL over the weekend which confirms that hospitals are no longer required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to discharging a patient to a nursing home or adult care facility.

DOH encourages hospitals to test patients for COVID-19 prior to discharge to any congregate care setting and to share such results with the accepting facility part of safe discharge procedures pursuant to 10 NYCRR 405.9(h)(1). Nursing homes must only accept residents for whom they are capable of providing appropriate and necessary care per CMS QSO 20-14-NH and 10 NYCRR 415.26(i)(1)(ii).

As Needed Vaccine Ordering via NYSIIS Manage Orders Module Begins Today

Providers are reminded that beginning today, Tuesday July 6, vaccine orders will be accepted only through the NYSIIS Manage Orders module. Instructions on how to place a COVID-19 vaccine order in NYSIIS are outlined in the Ordering COVID-19 Vaccine in NYSIIS and COVID-19 Order Review Process documents.

Providers may request enough vaccine to support three weeks of on hand inventory, and may order any day of the week.
