United Iroquois Shared Services, Inc. (UISS) is the for-profit division of the Iroquois Healthcare Association (IHA), focusing on group purchasing and shared services activities that concentrate on reducing operating costs and enhancing operational performance for more than 400 hospitals, nursing homes, HMOs, surgery centers, physician groups, and other health care providers in Upstate New York.

The flagship enterprise of UISS is its three-pronged group purchasing program. The first prong is the UISS local contract portfolio. This portfolio represents very competitive purchasing contracts of localized and specialty product areas. During 2007, this portfolio provided approximately half a million dollars in savings to those facilities utilizing these contracts.

The second prong in our program is the availability of state-wide contracts negotiated by the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA). Collectively, GNYHA and UISS members represent approximately $3.5 billion in purchasing volume, a significant share of the Premier national book of business. To highlight this fact, we have aggregated the purchasing volume of our members and negotiated “best tier pricing” on more than 260 Premier national contracts. This special pricing is available only to those members participating in the UISS/GNYHA/Premier program.

Our relationship with Premier Purchasing Partners, the third prong in our program, provides our members with the strongest national contracts available.  Collectively, members have access to more than 1,300 contracts.  Premier is the largest group purchasing organization in the USA with nearly $30 billion in purchasing volume.

Dedicated to the specific and unique needs and requirements of the home infusion, extended care and independent medical oncologist health care business segments, through our partnership with Premier and GNYHA, we are able to offer the dedicated national contract portfolio of Innovatix, LLC to the UISS members. The Innovatix program offers a high quality group purchasing portfolio that maximizes overall financial performance and provides the resources and educational support needed to enhance the delivery of quality patient care.

In addition to our group purchasing program, UISS offers its members a portfolio of “Special Programs”, which are consultative services that our partners bring to IHA and UISS members. There are currently more than a dozen Special Programs, including specialty services of revenue cycle management, employee benefits, staffing productivity monitoring, and online educational programs to name a few.
