HIXNY is a regional health informatiion organization (RHIO) comprised of a diverse group of health care organizations including hospitals, physicians practices, health plans and health care associations. Members of HIXNY partner to improve the health of the community by sharing medical information online at the point of care for the benefit of patients.
HIXNY was jointly founded in 1999 by the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance (IHA) on behalf of their 57 hospitals and the New York Health Plan Association (HPA) representing 30 health plans statewide, to promote collaboration among providers and payers designed to reduce health care costs and promote high quality clinical care in upstate New York.
